Physical therapy in Baton Rouge for Field Hockey
Welcome to Peak Performance Physical Therapy's resource about field hockey.
Field hockey is played in more than 130 countries worldwide. Outside of North America, it is often simply called “hockey,” while in Canada and the United States the term “field hockey” is used to distinguish it from ice hockey. Fast-paced and skill-driven, the sport continues to grow in popularity across all levels of play.

Because only minimal protective equipment is required, injuries are relatively common. Collisions with other players, uneven playing surfaces, and the swinging of sticks can all lead to bumps, bruises, sprains, and strains. More serious injuries, such as fractures, can also occur. While these risks are part of the game, proper preparation and conditioning can significantly reduce the likelihood of being sidelined.
At Peak Performance Physical Therapy, we’ve designed this section to help you prepare physically for field hockey and to prevent the most common injuries associated with the sport. Our goal is to keep you healthy, strong, and on the attack—so you’re dribbling down the field with confidence.
