Peak Performance Physical Therapy is extremely happy, and very proud, to have our first Hammond, LA physical therapy clinic located at Hammond America. Peak Performance has been providing physical therapy services in and around Baton Rouge for over 20 years and has always looked for an opportunity to service patients in the Hammond area. Because of a great relationship with the Sportsplex, Peak Performance has opened a full-service, outpatient, orthopedic physical therapy clinic in the back building of the site adjacent to the new ballpark.

As a full-service clinic, Peak Performance is able to treat not only sports related injuries, but ANY injury or condition which may be in need of physical therapy services. Peak accepts all major insurance plans and our front desk staff can verify coverage and answer any questions you may have regarding your specific benefits. Many times physicians will prescribe or recommend physical therapy for their patients who need it, and similar to getting a drug prescription filled, the patient can choose where they ‘fill their prescription’ or attend therapy. Our mantra is ‘CHOOSE PEAK’. Also, patients in Louisiana are now able to access a physical therapist without having a referral or prescription from a physician. “Direct Access” gives patients the ability to schedule directly with a physical therapist of their choosing. As with sports injuries, the Peak Performance therapy staff works closely with all area physicians and if needed, Peak therapists will refer patients to an appropriate doctor for further testing or evaluation.

For sports-related injuries and questions this will also be a fantastic partnership. The Peak Performance staff has been assisting athletes (and especially young athletes) with injury management, rehabilitation, and return to play services for many, many years. Most of Peak’s clinicians are also credentialed as athletic trainers and strength/conditioning specialists, along with having extensive specialized certifications and training in other areas such as soft tissue work like ASTYM and Triger Point Dry Needling. ‘Sports Medicine’ to Peak Performance means utilizing skilled and experienced therapists to help athletes return to play in the quickest, yet safest, manner possible. Young athletes don’t just need ‘treatment’, they need attention to details which may come into play as they continue to grow and develop. Solving one problem while potentially setting up for another is counterproductive and costly to the athlete in the long run. So while many aches and pains are ‘minor’, relatively normal, and easy to manage, true sports medicine clinicians are trained to examine the entire athlete and all factors involved in order to treat them effectively.

Peak Performance Physical Therapy works with ALL doctors in the area. Peak is a therapist-owned, independent practice. We are not affiliated with North Oaks, Ochsner, or any other larger healthcare provider. But we DO count on and utilize the skills and experience of top-notch physicians and other healthcare providers. All with the goal of taking care of our patients in the best possible manner.
